Our Story

Limerick Ladle Karen

My name is Karen, and I would like to share with you my passion for producing and cooking food using only the finest fresh ingredients.

I founded the Limerick Ladle to create delicious, fresh, and healthy cooking stocks at the Food Innovation Centre in Bruree, Co. Limerick. In Bruree, surrounded by great history (Bruree was once a seat of the ancient Kings of Munster), with the beautiful river Maigue running through it and the Old Mill close by, we produce a range of cooking stocks in a variety of flavours including Beef, Chicken and Vegetable.

My grandfather had a butchers shop many years ago in Bruree. Back then most of the food was produced or purchased locally which ensured the freshest, healthy, and sustaining meals for all the family. In many respects these cooking stocks have not changed since my grandparents’ time where meals were slowly cooked providing a hearty, healthy meal for all the family to enjoy after a hard day’s work.

I grew up on a farm only a couple of miles from Bruree where consideration for the land and animals around us was paramount. In view of this we are mindful of our environment and sustainability for future generations. We only use recyclable materials for our packaging, and we are continually considering innovative production processes and recipes to provide you with the best, natural, wholesome products.

At the Limerick Ladle we want you to “Eat Well Naturally”. Each batch of stock is hand made using only the freshest of ingredients and slowly simmered for hours to extract the finest flavours naturally. We ensure all our stocks have no celery (allergen), have no artificial additives or preservatives and are now low in salt and fat so you can enjoy their full natural flavours. Our stocks come freshly chilled, in an easy to use pouring bottle and are used as flavour bases for meals including soups, stews, sauces, noodles, rice, stir fries and many other dishes.
